It’s been a while since I posted an updated fishing report, I got a little behind with the holidays and have been crazy busy fishing!
We’re still in a great bite this winter and are offering both trophy catfish trips and trips fishing for numbers (more action). We’re running about a 96% success rate on trophy catfish trips and on the “eater catfish” trips were catching a ton of good quality channel catfish and blue catfish (and even some bigger fish) most days. The bite is really light and it can take some time to get in tune with it but when clients pay attention and follow instructions we’re catching a LOT of quality fish on these trips and have limited out many trips.
The trophy catfish bite should continue through early to mid-March. Despite the warm weather, the trophy catfish bite has been really consistent. The water got cold enough the warm weather hasn’t mattered much but we could sure use another big cold front soon to make sure that holds out!
Here’s the video with all of the current fishing report info.

Spring Catfishing
Spring is approaching quickly. The spring catfish bite is always awesome and it’s one of my busiest times of the year. If you want to get in on the spring catfish action (especially for weekends) don’t wait to get booked because these dates always fill up fast! If you wait to book it’s often very difficult to get a date. This is hands down my favorite time of the year to catch catfish!
You can view available dates and book online here.
Here’s what to expect:
We’ll still be fishing on Eagle Mountain Lake
March: We typically start catching good to excellent numbers of blue catfish, this is fast action of good quality fish and there will often be some trophy blue catfish mixed in.
April: Excellent action for numbers of blue catfish from 2-8 pounds with some occasional trophy catfish mixed in (March typically produces more big fish than April).
May: The shallow channel catfish bite typically kicks off during this time. It’s insane action and lots of fun with good quality channel catfish mixed in. The blue catfish action can also spill over into May, it really just depends on the weather and water temperatures. We also will often start to catch white bass during late May as well.
Text Message Updates
Several months ago we started a new text message update system. We’ll be sending fishing reports out via text in addition to special offers, last-minute openings during peak season, and more. You shouldn’t expect to receive more than 2 texts per month at the most. Just text the word CATFISH to 855-755-1982 to get signed up!
If you’re on a mobile device you can click here to send that text and get signed up.
Online Booking System
The new online booking system is online, so you can view available dates, pay your deposit, and everything is “automagic”. I’m working out a few bugs as well as trying to get all of my existing bookings moved to this new system but the new system is online now. You can view available dates and book online here at this link.
Please call or text me at 817-522-3804 if the date you’re looking for does not show to be available. I’ll do the best I can to work you in. Again, we’re running multiple boats and we’re still working out some kinks in the new system.
