Just received this press release today from Texas Parks and Wildlife. Unfortunately does not do anything for the catfish but is at least a step in the right direction for Lake Worth Texas.
The Texas Department of State Health Services has issued an advisory against consuming blue catfish, channel catfish and smallmouth buffalo from Lake Worth in Tarrant County. The new advisory replaces a 2000 advisory that warned against consuming any species of fish from Lake Worth due to elevated levels of PCBs. Recent testing did not show elevated levels of contaminants in samples of common carp, freshwater drum, largemouth bass or white crappie collected from Lake Worth. For more information, see the DSHS news release.
A list of all Fish Consumption Bans & Advisories for the state of Texas can be found on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website.
