Fishing is still good on Eagle Mountain Lake. The weather continues to be crazy here and the high winds continue to be an issue most days, much more than usual for this time of year.
The blue catfish bite continues to be excellent and I expect it to remain that way for another two to three weeks. We are catching good to excellent numbers of blue catfish daily and some mixed in channel catfish as well.
The white bass bite also continues to be excellent and we have had seven or eight of some of the biggest hybrid striped bass I have ever seen over the course of the past week. Eagle Mountain Lake has never been stocked with hybrids, the fish come down from Lake Bridgeport.
I have a pretty hefty schedule for the coming few weeks but have a couple of available dates if you would like to come out and catch some fish with North Texas Catfish Guide Service, just give me a shout at 817-522-3804.
Here is a photo from this past week. AJ and Gunner came out to fish with us for a quick morning half day fishing trip for AJ’s birthday. Despite the extremely high wind and challenging conditions we managed to tuck away from the wind and catch this mixed bag of catfish. The boys did a great job catching fish but we missed a TON of fish on this trip, and lost a 35+ lb blue cat at the side of the boat as well.
